Mind-Body Medicine
Mind-Body Medicine is an amazing approach for providing individuals with grounding and healing tools. Small groups of 6 - 9 people meet weekly for 2 hours for 8 weeks to learn and practice healing tools tools grounded in both Eastern and Western knowledge: art, meditations, music/movement, biofeedback, mindful eating, understanding family histories. Honestly, perhaps the most amazing aspect of the group is the overall support we provide each other in our own healing journeys--support that focusses on listening with curious, non-judgmental, non-directive, compassionate ears. I am fully trained and experienced in the facilitation of CMBM groups and am in the process of finishing certification to officially join their organization. Please reach out if you are interested in generating a group. Coping with trauma is a pretty universal human experience and it's inspiring to find healthy approaches for doing so.

"CMBM was founded by James S. Gordon, MD in 1991. Dr. Gordon is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine at Georgetown Medical School, and chaired the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy under Presidents Clinton and G.W. Bush. The Center for Mind-Body Medicine creates communities of hope and healing. We have the world’s largest, most effective evidence-based program for healing population-wide psychological trauma and stress. We bring together a variety of techniques drawn from the world’s healing traditions as well as modern medicine to help whole populations learn to heal themselves."
